Carlos Sandoval who co-directed and co-produced the film approached the LICF for support back in 2001, just months after two Mexican day laborers were brutally beaten in an apparent bias attack. Sandoval received early financial support from the LICF, the Long Island Unitarian Universalist Fund in the LICF, and the Horace and Amy Hagedorn Fund in the LICF. FARMINGVILLE will be shown at the Cinema Arts Centre in Huntington on June 15 at 7:30 pm with a discussion to follow (www.cinemaartscentre.org) and on the season premiere of POV, PBS's award-winning documentary program, on June 22, 2004, on Channel 13 at 10:00 pm and on Channel 21 on June 23 at 8:00 pm. |
