ERASE Racism Fundraising Event

June 09, 2005

On Thursday, June 9th from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. ERASE Racism, an initiative of the Long Island Community Foundation and now an independent nonprofit organization, held its first fundraiser at The Hoffman Center in Muttontown. The event -- A Common Thread: Celebrating People of the African Diaspora -- featured foods, music, and a marketplace bringing guests the tastes, sounds, and products of people affected by the African Diaspora. Over 225 guests enjoyed themselves while supporting the work of ERASE Racism.

ERASE Racism develops and promotes policies and initiatives to end the perpetuation of institutional and structural racism in economic and social arenas, such as public school education, housing, health care, and economic development.
