With the Foundation’s offices on Long Island, its grantmaking will continue to impact the lives of Long Island residents.” In September, James Claffey will begin as a Program Officer at the LICF. He brings ten years of experience working on Long Island. His name is well-known among community-based organizations through his employment at Catholic Charities, New York Immigration Coalition, Health and Welfare Council of Long Island, and Society of St. Vincent de Paul. Jim is fluent in Spanish, an asset to the LICF in reaching the growing Hispanic communities across the region. Working with Jim will be Vanessa Greene, who joined the LICF program staff last summer, first as a consultant and now as a full time Program Officer. Vanessa has vast experience working with community development organizations throughout the South, with a specialty, both personal and professional, in the arts. Her Executive MBA from Queens College, Charlotte, NC, adds a dynamic to crafting and evaluating capacity-building grants in under-served communities, the focus of much of her work. Lynda Parmely will continue dividing her time equally between Program Officer responsibilities and LITAC Nonprofit Solutions. |
