International Fellows Visit LICF

On March 23rd, the LICF hosted six International Fellows from the Center on Philanthropy and Civil Society at The City University of New York at its offices to exchange ideas about the work and role of community foundations. The group of emerging leaders included Filiz Bikmen, Istanbul, Turkey; Svetlana Chaparina, Togliatti, Russia; Carly Dawn Hare, Longmont, Colorado; Jayaram K. Manivannan, Andhre Pradesh, India; Julieta Mendez, San Diego, CA; and Phindile Brenda Ntethe, Richards Bay, South Africa.

For three months, these international fellows will be meeting with foundation staffs from around the country and the world to confer on pressing issues of capacity building, fundraising, donor acquisition, technology, policy, and program.

The Center on Philanthropy and Civil Society has forged a global community of researchers and practitioners working to strengthen philanthropy. The LICF is proud to have been included two years in a row as part of this important program.
