Environmental Grants - Henry Phillip Kraft Memorial Fund

Purpose:
- To minimize climate change by reducing greenhouse gas emissions;
- To preserve biological diversity through habitat conservation;
- To reduce or eliminate the toxins that are hazardous to human health;
- To preserve and restore the rich habitats of the Long Island region;
- To promote a more sustainable transportation system;
- To protect open space and drinking water resources across the region;
- To provide technical assistance to local groups to access resources for brownfield redevelopment.
Grant Range: minimum grant size is $10,000, maximum depends on the number of applications received.
Eligibility:
- A community group or emerging grassroots organization that can secure the cooperation of a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization willing to administer the grant
or
- 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization operating for charitable purposes
and
located in Nassau or Suffolk County and working directly and primarily for the benefit of Long Island residents.
