Grants typically fall in the $5,000 to $20,000 range
When will I hear if it is approved?
The process can take up to two and one-half months from submission to decision.
How long before I get the funding?
Once approved, you will receive a contract to be signed and returned to us. When we have received the signed contract, a payment release is issued. Payment will be made within approximately six weeks.
Do you do site visits?
While not a necessary part of the grant-making process in every instance, the LICF does believe in the value of site visits and arranges them as time/availability of staff allows
Can I request LICF, LIUU and Kraft funding at the same time?
It is conceivable, though unlikely, that a proposal would qualify for all 3 funding streams simultaneously, although in some cases proposals have received funding from more than one source.
May I fax or e-mail my proposal instead of mailing it?
Proposals by fax or email are not accepted.
If I’m turned down, when can I apply again?
If your proposal is “declined” you must wait one year to submit a proposal for the same project; if you “withdraw” a proposal, you may apply in the next grant cycle.
How often does LICF make grants?
LICF makes grants three times a year: March, July, November
Can I meet with staff before submitting an application?
Due to time constraints, it is very difficult for staff to meet with pre-applicants.
Can I contact your donors?
No, donor-grantee direct contact is not permitted
Do I have to use the budget forms on your website?
We strongly encourage you to do so
Does LICF award multi-year grants?
No, LICF may not commit to multi-year funding, although the foundation may in certain cases fund a project for a second or even a third year
